MC Supplier Interview 003

Just Garage speaks to True Fm's Mc Supplier, the man behind events such as Pure Temptation, Nookie, So True and Raunchy.

1) How would you describe the garage scene at the moment?

It's far from how it used to be although right now things are looking bright. I feel a new Garage craze is begining again, so fingers crossed for this time next year, or maybe even later this year!

2) Is there still a big following for the garage sound at the events your putting on?

Unfortunatly the answer to that is probably no not really, it seems to be mainly all the commercial house stuff really! Although any big Garage tune of now days standerdly gets played and goes down a storm, but there's just not simply enough good, big garage club smashers getting made now days, Therefore if you cant stand to listen to any more old skool everytime you go out and want to hear something new then seven times out of ten it's along the house/electro road. Not an ideal situation for our scene i know!!!

3) Whats it like working with one of the original pioneers of the garage sound DJ Luck?

Ever since 'Raise it up' a couple years back we've become good friends from travelling to perform all over the world together. So now when we go in the studio it's alot more relaxed and more fun. I always like to work with Luck as commercially, in our scene him and Neat have probably had some of the biggest success and he's got some great idea's on what will work and what can potensionally turn into a hit!

4) Is there an official release date yet for the DONT GIVE A LUCK tune?

No not at the moment, it's only us 2 playing it, we havent given it to anyone yet. The idea is to make it as big as possible over the summer at all the holiday destinations and then see what happens from there!

5) Aside from DJ LUCK, are you working with any one else in the near future?

Yeah i have a few projects i'm working on. Firstly with the lady of the moment Lauren Mason, got something coming with me and Kenzie from Celebrity big Brother, and also a tune with my sister Faith. Sticky has also just done a mix of 'Baby Boy' a tune i've done with True fm's Nikki S & Nyke!

6) You recently done an event at the carling academy, with an all drum and bass line up, are there any plans for a 100% garage event in the near future?

I love all genders of dance music and i come from the garage scene, so yes if i feel the situation arises and i have that oppertunity in front of me and a club that will actually allow it then yes, defo!

7) Whats your PERSONAL preferences:

House or Garage? Both

Both 2step and 4x4 or Bassline? 2step really, i'm not massively into the bassline thing at the moment.

8) Which radio sets do you try and lock into on a regular basis?

I am so so busy and my life has absolutly no routine or regular sleep pattern, so i only ever get to hear who ever is on at the time!

9) Which djs, mc, producers and artists in your opinion are smashing the circuit at the minute?

Dj's: any one from True 100.2fm.
Producers: Luck, Danny Dubbz, Danny C,
Artists: Lauren Mason is the girl of the moment! 2Ton, Nikki S & Nyke, Darren Martin

10) What made you want to get into the world of dj'in, mc'in, promoting, radio etc?

Thats the easiest question so far - I LOVE MUSIC!

11) What advice can you give to anyone whose looking to follow a similar path in life?

If you are prepared to work your arse off then you can achieve anything!
